Leaves are changing and cozy sweaters are coming out…the smells of my favorite season are in the air…crisp mornings, crackling fires, and pumpkin spice everything!  Sometimes I can just smell cinnamon or gingerbread and it instantly makes my heart warm. I JUST LOVE FALL!

It’s easy to get seduced by the aroma of seasonal lattes calling our name. I mean there’s a coffee shop on every corner!  Before you reach for the pumpkin spice latte or gingerbread frappe check out these healthy smoothie recipes that will give you all your favorite flavors of the season without the sugar bomb!

Did you know that the average pumpkin spice latte is 380 calories, includes 14 grams of fat, and 50 grams of sugar?!

Crazy, right?! 

I love a good smoothie full of real, fresh, nutrient-dense ingredients. Plus they are an excellent way to get additional vitamins, minerals, probiotics, and greens into my busy day without wrecking my macros.

Adopt the mindset of refusing to just dump protein powder in water, shake it up, and go.

Pumped Up Pumpkin Spice

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 handful Ice
  • ½ cup Vanilla or Plain Kefir
  • ½ cup Plain Pumpkin Puree
  • 10 steamed Baby Carrots
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein
  • ½ tsp Pumpkin Pie Spice
  • ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ½ tsp Peeled/Minced Ginger
  • 1 tbsp Honey (if desired)

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth.

  • Protein: 29 grams

  • Carbs: 17 Net Carbs
  • Fiber: 4 grams

Butter Pecan Pie

Ingredients

  • ½ cup Plain Yogurt Kefir
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Coconut Milk/Almond Milk (or water)
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 handful Ice
  • ⅓ small Avocado
  • 1 cup Spinach
  • 1 oz Pecans
  • ⅓ tsp Maple Extract
  • ½ tsp Butter Extract

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy!

The Gingerbread Man

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups Ice
  • 1 ½ cups Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
  • ½ small Avocado
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Ground Ginger or 1 tsp Peeled or Minced Fresh Ginger
  • ⅛ tsp Nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp Cloves
  • ⅛ tsp himalayan Sea Salt

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy!

  • Protein: 27 grams
  • Fat: 15 grams
  • Carbs: 7 Net Carbs
  • Fiber: 6 grams

Spiced Ginger Peach

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups Unsweetened Almond or Coconut Milk (or water)
  • 2 cups Organic Fozen Peaches
  • 1 organic Fresh Fuzzy Peach (optional but makes it oh so delish)
  • 1 handful Spinach
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 tbsp Peeled/Minced Ginger
  • ¼ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Honey (if desired)

Instructions

  • Blend fresh and frozen peaches, spinach, milk/water, protein powder, cinnamon, and ginger until smooth and color is consistent throughout.
  • Taste, add honey and more cinnamon or ginger if desired.

  • Fat: 6 grams
  • Carbs: 42 Net Carbs
  • Fiber: 11.5 grams

Not Your Grandma's Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 Granny Smith Apple (cut into chunks and frozen in advance)
  • 1 cup Ice
  • 1 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • 4 oz Apple Juice or Apple Cider
  • 1 scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 tsp Apple Pie Spice (if you don’t have apple pie spice in the pantry then use ½ tsp cinnamon + ⅓ tsp nutmeg)

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients together until smooth. Enjoy!

  • Fat: 5 grams
  • Carbs: 30 Net Carbs
  • Fiber: 4 grams
